Happy summer! As pediatric dentists here in Hacienda Heights, we are very passionate about making sure our patients and their families get the chance to enjoy summertime while the days are long and the kids are out of school. One of the wonderful communities we serve is Walnut, CA! This city has a lot of opportunities for family fun this summer. Here are a few of the events and programs that our Walnut patients and their families should check out!
Walnut Summer Concert Series
The summer, the city of Walnut is hosting their free summer concert series on Tuesdays nights from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Creekside Park. Concerts begin July 9th and will conclude on August 6th. Entry to these concerts are free! Bring your picnic dinner, a blanket, or lawn chairs to set your space up for a night of live entertainment. Each concert will also feature some awesome local food trucks! Here is the summer lineup schedule:

Walnut Movies in the Park
If you’re willing to stay out a little later on a weeknight, consider staying behind after the weekly concert to watch a free movie in the park! Movies will be shown on Tuesday nights directly following the concert from 8:30 pm to about 10 p.m. Of course, entry to this event is also free. The city recommends that guests bring and apply mosquito repellent when attending either or both of these events. Here is the movie screening schedule for this summer:

National Night Out
Join the Walnut community for a special concert in the park on August 6th to celebrate National Night Out! This event is put on by Walnut to remind the community how neighborhood involvement can help prevent against crime. This is a great opportunity to meet the Mayor and City Council, fellow Walnut community members, and personnel from the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station. Plus, you’ll get to enjoy a great free concert!
Kids’ Night Out
Looking for a chance to enjoy a kid-free evening? Consider registering your child for a Walnut Teen Center’s Kids’ Night Out! Kids’ Night Out takes place on the third Saturday of every month from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old are invited to spend an evening of fun at the Walnut Teen Center, complete with crafts, games, dinner, dessert, popcorn and movies. Every month, Kids’ Night Out will feature a different theme! The cost of attendance is $19 per child, and $15 per additional child from the same immediate family. Pack your child’s sleeping bag!
